Who is Klein Legal Research?
Stacy R. Klein is an attorney licensed in New York with a strong civil and criminal litigation background in both federal and state courts. From 1998-2002, Ms. Klein held the position of Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the New York State Attorney General. She represented New York State Law Enforcement agencies, including New York State Troopers, Court Officers, and employees of the Department of Correctional Services in § 1983 federal civil rights cases. Her responsibilities included all aspects of trial practice, and she has personally litigated over ten Section 1983 civil rights jury trials in federal court. In addition, she was responsible for reviewing and assessing potential appellate issues, researching and drafting briefs and memorandum of law.
Prior to her position with New York State, Stacy Klein was employed with the New York City Law Department, Office of the Corporation Counsel. She held the position of Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Bronx Family Court, where she prosecuted juvenile delinquents. During her four years in Bronx Family Court, she handled cases from arraignment to sentencing, including pre-trial motions and hearings. This type of prosecution required extensive knowledge of criminal law, research and up to date analysis of the case law and how it affected the facts surrounding the arrest.
